Charles Whitford, DVM and Whitney Whitford, DVM
Charles Whitford, DVM and Whitney Whitford, DVM, have worked in Southwest Florida since graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. In 2003, they purchased the Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres. Dr. Charley’s special interests include surgery and preventative care. Dr. Whitney’s special interests are pain management, dental care and senior care.
You can see Dr. Whitney on the “Pet Connection” every Tuesday at about 8:20 am on Wink TV (WXCW, Channel 46). She answers questions from callers and brings in a dog or cat from the Gulf Coast Humane Society looking for a home.
Outside of work they enjoy camping, running, mountain biking and spending time with family – both human and 4-legged.
Pamela Mettley, DVM
Dr. Pam graduated in 1985 from Louisiana State University. She began practicing at a small animal hospital in Miami which had six veterinarians, and remained there for six years. In 1991 she moved to Southwest Florida where she continued practicing medicine. Dr. Pam’s special interests include feline and geriatric medicine and preventative care. She enjoys reading, yoga, jazzercise, and biking. Dr. Mettley also likes taking vacations with her husband and fur kids to dog friendly beaches. She has a cat, Macintosh and two dogs, Alfie & Pepper.
Kim Seredick, DVM
Dr. Kim earned her Bachlor of Science degree in Animal Science and Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Kim’s areas of interest include Internal Medicine and Soft Tissue Surgery. Dr. Kim is from sunny Florida and has also worked as a veterinary technician for 15 years, which confirmed her dedication to helping animals. She shares her life with her husband, daughter, and son as well as her two dogs Dakota and Pixie. She also enjoys spending time with her family outdoors – fishing, boating, hiking, and camping.
Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
Marie – Certified Veterinary Technician
Marie graduated from St. Petersburg College as a Certified Veterinary Technician in June 2001, and joined our team in July 2003. She has been involved in veterinary medicine all of her life and followed in her mothers footsteps by becoming a CVT. She began volunteering at a veterinary hospital when she was in sixth grade. Marie has one dog named Mocha and two cats names Mayhem and Havoc.
Dawn – Exam Room Technician
Dawn has been with AMC since March of 2006. She has worked in all areas of the hospital, but her favorite is exam room technician and helping to take care of the pets. She has a daughter who has completed vet tech school and will be going to vet school. Currently she has 3 dogs- Destiny, Nikki, and Scarface, but has been known to take in a stray or two. Dawn is also our Inventory Manager.
Nadiya – Exam Room Technician
Nadiya joined the AMC team in September of 2013. She’s been a veterinary tech since 2003. She has 3 dogs, 1 parrot, and 1 rabbit. When Nadiya is not working, she is spending time with her fiance and family.
Val – Hospital/Surgery Technician
Val has been with AMC since 2004. She has been a veterinary technician since 2000. She is engaged and has 2 beautiful children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Her passion lies in patient care. You can find her in all areas of the hospital caring for our hospitalized patients and checking on our Pet Resort guests.
Cyndy – Surgery Assistant, Exam Room Assistant
Cyndy was a long term client and joined our team in 2005 to help care for all of our four legged guests. She has five daughters and six grandchildren. She grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. After marrying, she worked in a nursing home as a nurse assistant, then a physical therapy assistant, then finally in medical records. She loves cooking (and does an awesome job at it), sewing, crocheting and chocolate. She takes amazing care of all our four-legged guests. Cyndy makes hand-made quilts and dog beds-raffle tickets are available and proceeds go to our AMC rescue fund.
Brittany – Exam Room Assistant
Brittany joined our AMC team in June of 2016. She has three dogs named Bella, Claire, and Spawn and a rescue cat named Gina. Brittany is currently enrolled in school to become a certified veterinary technician. She enjoys photography and the beach in her free time.
Ceptember – Exam Room Assistant
Ceptember has been in the veterinary field since 2014 and joined the AMC team in August of 2018. She has 3 beautiful children and loves being outdoors in her spare time. She has 5 English Bulldogs that she thinks are the best!

Regina is a Fort Myers native and started with AMC March of 2019. She has been a vet tech since 2004. She enjoys living with her 7 cats and 2 dogs. When she is not working she likes spending time with her family and taking every opportunity to enjoy beautiful Southwest Florida.
Sammy, Exam Room Assistant/Pet Resort

Sammy has been a Lehigh resident since 2013. He joined the AMC team in April of 2019. He lives with his beautiful wife and 3 dogs and 1 cat. He enjoys collecting and working on antique cars. He can be found in our Pet Resort and exam rooms.
Administration and Receptionists
Janet Barger – Hospital Administrator
Janet has been a long time resident of Lehigh Acres and joined our AMC team in 2001. Janet earned her degree in veterinary practice management from St. Petersburg College in 2008. She has four dogs, Rebel, Tanner, Angel, and Zeus; one parrot named Alex, a Quarter Horse named Taboo, a Fox Trotter named Jake, and a horse named Sam. She has been married to her husband Anthony since 1989 and cherishes her son Gage. Janet can be found in all areas of the hospital checking on everyone and helping where she is needed. She oversees anything from billing, customer service to employee concerns and new hires.
Erin – Lead Receptionist/Social Media Coordinator/Notary Public
Erin joined the AMC team in December of 2006. She started in the Pet Resort and then became an assistant to the doctors. She is now the Receptionist Team Leader, manages AMC social media outlets and website, and oversees the adoptable pets. She has lived in Florida all of her life and has two handsome sons. Her animals include: a Pitbull named Waylon, a Bulldog named Dani, a Rottweiler named Lincoln and 5 cats named Stewart, Stevie, Evil Knievel, Houdini, and Selena. Hobbies include going to school for Business Management, camping, trips to Universal Studios, and running.
Vicki – Receptionist
Vicki joined the AMC team in June of 2002. She has a wonderful husband, 3 children, and 3 grandchildren. Vicki has 3 dogs; Dixie, Tizzy, and Pinky, and 2 cats; Cookie and Sunny. Vicki also has a pet pig named Pork Chop.
Wendy – Receptionist
Wendy, having many years experience as a veterinary receptionist, has her Associates in Science majoring in Medical Administration, and joined our AMC team in 2008. She has a soft spot for senior pets, but senior Pugs have a special place in her heart. Wendy and her husband of 30 years enjoy hanging out at home with their 3 senior Pugs, senior Cocker Spaniel, and their adult Pug who keeps the household jumping. Both Wendy and her husband are also Disney fans and enjoy the occasional trip to Orlando, visiting the Walt Disney World Resort area.
Shannon – Receptionist
Shannon joined our AMC team in September 2015. She was born and raised in Miami and recently moved to Fort Myers. Shannon has a Pit Bull named Choppa. Shannon enjoys working out and traveling.
Kacie – Receptionist
Kacie has worked with AMC since 2013. She left for the human medicine world but came back to her AMC family. She can be found in all areas of the hospital lending a helping hand. Kacie has been around animals all her life. She has 2 dogs, a cat, and a horse so far. She spends as much time as she can with her family and on the water with her fiancé.
Michelle – Receptionist
Michelle has been working at AMC since March of 2017. She has been working in the customer service field since 2011. In her free time she loves spending time with her family, taking photos and doing anything art related.
Lacy – Receptionist
Lacy joined the AMC team in March of 2016. She grew up in Indiana until she was 17, then moved to Southwest Florida to be closer to her family. Her love of all animals brought her to the veterinary industry. She enjoys spending her free time with her fiance, son, and their boxer, Queenie.
Gage – Pet Resort
Gage has been working in our Pet Resort since 2009. He enjoys caring for all the dogs and cats that board with us. Gage can be found in all areas of the hospital, and is a great asset for help with the larger dogs. Gage is a newlywed and has 3 cats named Emma, Ali, and Troy.
Jessie – Surgery Assistant / Pet Resort Assistant
Jessie started volunteering in our Pet Resort November of 2012. She then became an employee May of 2013. She has 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a guinea pig. She is a full time college student and enjoys cleaning and caring for animals.
Sophia – Pet Resort
Sophia has been with AMC since June of 2018. She will be starting college in the fall of 2019. Sophia is bilingual speaking both English and Spanish fluently. She has two dogs, a Dachshund named Bruno and a German Shepherd named Jack. Sophia is very passionate about animals and furthering her education.
Robin – Exam Room Assistant
Robin has been with AMC since July of 2018. She works in the Pet Resort, and assists in exam rooms. She enjoys making pets feel refreshed after a relaxing day of pampering. She also enjoys spending time with her family in the many adventures they go on.
Emily – Pet Resort Assistant
Emily works in our Pet Resort and has been with AMC since July of 2017. She enjoys caring for our Pet Resort guests and lending a helping hand wherever she can throughout the hospital. She currently has a Corgi named Cooper and a cat she adopted through AMC named Dunkin. In her free time she enjoys fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and family.
