Charles Whitford, DVM and Whitney Whitford, DVM
Charles Whitford, DVM and Whitney Whitford, DVM, have worked in Southwest Florida since graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. In 2003, they purchased the Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres. Dr. Charley’s special interests include surgery and preventative care. Dr. Whitney’s special interests are pain management, dental care and senior care.
Outside of work they enjoy camping, running, mountain biking and spending time with family – both human and 4-legged.
Kim Seredick, DVM
Dr. Kim earned her Bachlor of Science degree in Animal Science and Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Kim’s areas of interest include Internal Medicine and Soft Tissue Surgery. Dr. Kim is from sunny Florida and has also worked as a veterinary technician for 15 years, which confirmed her dedication to helping animals. She shares her life with her husband, daughter, and son as well as her two dogs Dakota and Pixie. She also enjoys spending time with her family outdoors – fishing, boating, hiking, and camping.
Amie Lanier, DVM
Dr. Amie is a 2002 graduate from the college of veterinary medicine at the University of Florida. Dr. Amie is an avid Florida football fan and a native Floridian. She practiced for 10 years in equine ambulatory medicine before starting her family. Dr. Amie is now focused on small animal medicine. She has two kids, Chase, 10 and Cambry 5, a French bulldog named Bosch, and a Shetland pony named Chicken Nugget. She enjoys reading, camping, and travel.
Gene A. Rinderknecht, DVM
Dr. Gene Rinderknecht was born and raised on a family farm in Eastern Iowa. After high school in 1965, he attended Iowa State University in pre-veterinary studies, then graduated from veterinary school at Iowa State University in 1972. He has worked in the Chicago and Iowa areas. Since moving to Florida in 1994 he has worked in a variety of practice settings; including private practice and chief of staff in corporate practices.
Dr. Rinderknecht enjoys practicing veterinary medicine and feels very fortunate he has been able to practice in a variety of situations. He is married to Sandi and they have many grandchildren which are scattered over the U.S. He enjoys visiting their grandchildren and love to take cruises. He also enjoys volunteering for a variety of community organizations. Dr. Rinderknecht also enjoys gardening and history, especially when it pertains to World War II. He feels very fortunate to be part of the Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres team.
Anne Grumney, DVM
Dr. Grumney graduated from the Ohio State University in 1994. She has always enjoyed working with cats & dogs and has special interests in training dogs, geriatric medicine and infectious diseases.
When not working, you can find her birdwatching, kayaking or on the beach.
Jordi the Border Collie, Kobi the Pomeranian, 2 cats, Willow and Trinity are her much loved animal companions.
Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
Marie – Certified Veterinary Technician
Marie graduated from St. Petersburg College as a Certified Veterinary Technician in June 2001, and joined our team in July 2003. She has been involved in veterinary medicine all of her life and followed in her mothers footsteps by becoming a CVT. She began volunteering at a veterinary hospital when she was in sixth grade. Marie has one dog named Mocha and two cats names Mayhem and Havoc.
Val – Hospital/Surgery Technician
Val has been with AMC since 2004. She has been a veterinary technician since 2000. She is engaged and has 2 beautiful children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Her passion lies in patient care. You can find her in all areas of the hospital caring for our hospitalized patients and checking on our Pet Resort guests.
Cyndy – Surgery Assistant, Exam Room Assistant
Cyndy was a long term client and joined our team in 2005 to help care for all of our four legged guests. She has five daughters and six grandchildren. She grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. After marrying, she worked in a nursing home as a nurse assistant, then a physical therapy assistant, then finally in medical records. She loves cooking (and does an awesome job at it), sewing, crocheting and chocolate. She takes amazing care of all our four-legged guests. Cyndy makes hand-made quilts and dog beds-raffle tickets are available and proceeds go to our AMC rescue fund.
Brittany – Exam Room Technician & Assistant
Brittany joined our AMC team in June of 2016. She has three dogs named Bella, Claire, and Spawn and a rescue cat named Gina. Brittany is currently enrolled in school to become a certified veterinary technician. She enjoys photography and the beach in her free time.
Regina is a Fort Myers native and started with AMC March of 2019. She has been a vet tech since 2004. She enjoys living with her 7 cats and 2 dogs. When she is not working she likes spending time with her family and taking every opportunity to enjoy beautiful Southwest Florida.
Sammy, Exam Room Assistant
Sammy has been a Lehigh resident since 2013. He joined the AMC team in April of 2019. He lives with his beautiful wife and 3 dogs and 1 cat. He enjoys collecting and working on antique cars. He can be found in our Pet Resort and exam rooms.
Erica, Exam Room Technician
Originally from Massachusetts Erica moved to Fort Myers in 2005. She has been a vet tech since 2001. She enjoys helping clients learn how to be the best pet owners that they can be. She lives with her daughter one dog and two cats.
Jared – Surgery Assitant & Exam Room Assistant
Jared joined AMC August of 2019. He has attended Cape Coral Technical College to become a certified veterinary assistant. He was born in Miami and has lived here since he was 4 years old. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies and TV shows.
Kyle – Technician
Kyle joined AMC in December of last year. He has a background in emergency veterinary medicine. Kyle’s skill set is a great addition to our already extraordinary technician team. We are very excited to have him.
Sue Adkins – Exam Room Assistant, Hospital
Sue first joined the AMC team as a receptionist and has worked in all areas of the hospital assisting where she is needed.
As a lifelong animal lover, Sue currently has 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 horses.
Administration and Receptionists
Janet Barger – Hospital Administrator
Janet has been a long time resident of Lehigh Acres and joined our AMC team in 2001. Janet earned her degree in veterinary practice management from St. Petersburg College in 2008. She has four dogs, Rebel, Tanner, Angel, and Zeus; one parrot named Alex, a Quarter Horse named Taboo, a Fox Trotter named Jake, and a horse named Sam. She has been married to her husband Anthony since 1989 and cherishes her son Gage. Janet can be found in all areas of the hospital checking on everyone and helping where she is needed. She oversees anything from billing, customer service to employee concerns and new hires.
Dawn Cook – Inventory Manager, Bookkeeper, Accounts Receivable, Adoption Coordinator
Dawn has been with AMC since March of 2006. She has worked in all areas of the hospital, started out as a receptionist, learned, and moved on to be a veterinary technician. She has a daughter who is in her final year of Vet School at the University of Florida. Currently, she has 3 dogs, Destiny, Nikki, and Scarface, 1 cat Fergus, but has been known to take in a stray or two. Dawn is currently working in the Administrative area.
Jodie Rennie, CVPM
Jodie has been in the veterinary field since 2003. In 2007 she earned her degree in veterinary practice management from St. Petersburg College. She also has her Associates Degree in management and marketing. She has worked in all areas of the hospital. Currently, she has 2 cats. Jade and Salem, she also has 2 horses and a boxer named Skye. Her passion is working with cats.
Shannon – Lead Receptionist
Shannon joined our AMC team in September 2015. She was born and raised in Miami and recently moved to Fort Myers. Shannon has a Pit Bull named Choppa. Shannon enjoys working out and traveling.
Vicki – Receptionist
Vicki joined the AMC team in June of 2002. She has a wonderful husband, 3 children, and 3 grandchildren. Vicki has 3 dogs; Dixie, Tizzy, and Pinky, and 2 cats; Cookie and Sunny. Vicki also has a pet pig named Pork Chop.
Wendy – Receptionist
Wendy, having many years experience as a veterinary receptionist, has her Associates in Science majoring in Medical Administration, and joined our AMC team in 2008. She has a soft spot for senior pets, but senior Pugs have a special place in her heart. Wendy and her husband of 30 years enjoy hanging out at home with their 3 senior Pugs, senior Cocker Spaniel, and their adult Pug who keeps the household jumping. Both Wendy and her husband are also Disney fans and enjoy the occasional trip to Orlando, visiting the Walt Disney World Resort area.
Lacy – Receptionist
Lacy joined the AMC team in March of 2016. She grew up in Indiana until she was 17, then moved to Southwest Florida to be closer to her family. Her love of all animals brought her to the veterinary industry. She enjoys spending her free time with her fiance, son, and their boxer, Queenie.
Robin – Exam Room Assistant
Robin has been with AMC since July of 2018. She works in the Pet Resort, and assists in exam rooms. She enjoys making pets feel refreshed after a relaxing day of pampering. She also enjoys spending time with her family in the many adventures they go on.
Alexis – Receptionist
Alexis joined AMC in January of this year. Her background is in customer service. Her passion for animals and makes her a great addition to our team.
Emily – Receptionist
Emily works in our Pet Resort and has been with AMC since July of 2017. She enjoys caring for our Pet Resort guests and lending a helping hand wherever she can throughout the hospital. She currently has a Corgi named Cooper and a cat she adopted through AMC named Dunkin. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and family.
Kalib – Exam Room Assistant, Hospital Assistant
Kalib joined AMC August of 2019. He was born and raised in Fort Myers. He has been working with dogs since 2013 and loves every minute of it. He has 4 dogs and 2 sheep currently, but there is always room for more!
