Charles Whitford, DVM

Dr. Charles Whitford has been a dedicated veterinarian in Southwest Florida since graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Alongside his wife, Dr. Whitney Whitford, he took over the Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres in 2003. With a special interest in surgery and preventative care, Dr. Charley is committed to providing top-notch medical services to his animal patients. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys camping, running, mountain biking, and spending quality time with his family and pets.

Whitney Whitford, DVM

Dr. Whitney Whitford has been serving the Southwest Florida community as a veterinarian since earning her degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Together with her husband, Dr. Charles Whitford, she purchased the Animal Medical Center of Lehigh Acres in 2003.

Dr. Whitney has a strong passion for pain management, dental care, and senior care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of her animal patients. When not at the clinic, she loves camping, running, mountain biking, and enjoying time with her family and their beloved pets.

Nicole Bahoque, DVM

Dr. Nicole worked at AMC as a teenager and then joined our team again in October 2021 as a veterinarian. Dr. Nicole has 3 dogs, Koko, Kasper, and Naomi.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and boys, working out, and playing video games. Dr. Nicole is a Marvel comic enthusiast and loves playing the Pokemon card game.

Marie

Certified Veterinary Technician & Surgery Technician

Marie graduated from St. Petersburg College as a Certified Veterinary Technician in June 2001, and joined our team in July 2003. She has been involved in veterinary medicine all of her life and followed in her mothers footsteps by becoming a CVT. She began volunteering at a veterinary hospital when she was in sixth grade. Marie has two dogs named Mika and Mocha, and two cats names Mayhem and Havoc.

Brittany

Exam Room Technician

Brittany joined our AMC team in June of 2016. She has three dogs named Bella, Claire, and Spawn and a rescue cat named Gina. Brittany is currently enrolled in school to become a certified veterinary technician. She enjoys photography and the beach in her free time.

Erica

Exam Room Technician & Surgery Technician

Originally from Massachusetts Erica moved to Fort Myers in 2005. She has been a vet tech since 2001. She enjoys helping clients learn how to be the best pet owners that they can be. She lives with her husband, her children, two dogs and four cats.

Kalib

Exam Room Technician

Kalib joined AMC August of 2019. He was born and raised in Fort Myers. He has been working with dogs since 2013 and loves every minute of it. He has eight dogs and he runs a reptile sanctuary with many tortoises, turtles, lizards, and more.

Skylynn

Exam Room Technician, Hospital Assistant, Surgical Assistant

Skylynn graduated from Veterinary Technical Institute in 2020 with hopes to further her studies to become a Veterinary Technician. She has one cat, one dog and one Ball Python, who she loves spending time with.

In her free time, Sky enjoys hanging out with her boyfriend, working on her cars, driving at drift events, and going to car shows.

Rian

Exam Room Technician & Hospital Assistant

Rian joined our team at AMC in July of 2022. Rian has one cat named Pickles. In her free time, Rian enjoys getting out and exploring Florida’s nature preserves.

Lissandra

Exam Room Assistant, Hospital Assistant & Spanish Speaking Associate

Lissandra joined our team at AMC in June of 2022. She has a love for animals and they’ve always been a passion of hers. Lissandra has hopes of continuing her education in veterinary medicine. When she’s not at school or work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and watching movies.

Jared

Surgery Assistant & Exam Room Assistant

Jared joined AMC August of 2019. He has attended Cape Coral Technical College to become a certified veterinary assistant. He was born in Miami and has lived here since he was 4 years old. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies and TV shows.

Zemper

Exam Room Assistant, Hospital Assistant & Spanish Speaking Associate

Zemper joined our team at AMC in 2023. Zemper has been working with animals for 17 years. In her free time, Zemper enjoys outdoor activities, playing tennis, riding her motorcycle, and spending time with family and her four legged kids. Zemper’s professional background, love for animals and Spanish fluency make Zemper a valuable asset to us here at AMC. Se habla Espanol!

Emma

Certified Veterinary Assistant

Emma joined the team at AMC in May of 2024, after graduating high school with her Certified Veterinary Assistant certificate. Emma has always had a deep passion for working with animals and providing them with the care they deserve. At home, Emma has three beloved cats- Batman, Robin, and Doobie- who keep life fun and full of personality.

In her free time, Emma enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend and loves activities like bowling and golfing.

Nancy

Hospital Assistant,Exam Room Assistant

Nancy joined our AMC team in December 2024. Nancy grew up in a military family and spent her childhood travelling and learning new cultures.

She’s been in the veterinary field for over 25 years, and is currently enrolled in a program to obtain her certification. In her free time, Nancy enjoys reading a good book, solving puzzles (especially crossword and word searches), spending time with her family. Nancy has a rescue
cat named Whiskey, and also helps with her father’s cat Franky who is an AMC rescue.

Dawn

Inventory Manager, Bookkeeper, Adoption Coordinator

Dawn has been with AMC since March of 2006. She has worked in all areas of the hospital, started out as a receptionist, learned, and moved on to be a veterinary technician. She has a daughter who is a Veterinarian here at AMC. Currently, she has one Dalmatian named Myla, one cat named Fergus, but has been known to take in a stray or two. Dawn is currently working in the Administrative area.

Vicki

Receptionist

Vicki joined the AMC team in June of 2003. She has a wonderful husband, 3 children, and 6 grandchildren. Vicki has one cat named Cookie and 1 Pot Belly pig named Baby. During her free time, Vicki enjoys the title of Best Mamaw Ever to all of her grandkids. Vicki also enjoys spending time outside in nature and relaxing at home with her husband.

Emily

Receptionist

Emily has been with AMC since July of 2017. She currently has an American Bully named Duke, and two kitties that she adopted through AMC named Dunkin and Munchkin. In her free time, she enjoys fishing, reading, and spending time with her husband and family.

Amanda

Receptionist, Social Media Coordinator

Amanda joined our team again in January 2021. She worked at AMC from 2012 to 2017. Amanda has a passion for native Florida wildlife and is knowledgeable on most bird species . She enjoys outdoor activities and learning/reading. We are happy to have Amanda back on our team.

Kirsten

Receptionist

Kirsten joined our team at AMC in August 2022. She was born and raised in SWFL. Kirsten has one cat, one dog, and one sugar glider. In her free time, Kirsten enjoys doing arts and crafts, fishing, riding her four wheeler, and going to Disney.

Jenny

Receptionist, Spanish Speaking Associate

Jenny joined our AMC team in June of 2024. She currently has four dogs and three cats. When not at AMC, Jenny enjoys traveling, crafts, and
spending time with family.
